Denise is President of BayStar Productions, producing the Miss Houston and Miss Houston Teen pageant. She has been the Director / Producer of the Miss Bay Area USA / Miss Bay Area Teen USA pageant for seven years. She was honored when named Director of the Miss Houston USA / Miss Houston Teen USA Pageant in January 2005 and in December 2007, The Crystal Group awarded her the role of producer of the Houston pageants. Under her guidance, contestants from the Houston and Bay Area pageants have been in the WINNER’S CIRCLE, semifinalists and finalists at the state competitions, Miss Texas USA® and Miss Texas Teen USA®. Four of her former titleholders have advanced to the Top 10 at MISS USA® and Madison Lee, Miss Bay Area Teen won the title of Miss Texas Teen USA in 2012.
Denise has years of management experience in the petrochemical industry in the discipline of distribution and logistics. As a business professional she applies her motivational and leadership skills to the role of being an effective director. She has been involved with the Miss Texas USA® and Miss Texas Teen USA® system supporting her daughter Nicole win the local titles of Miss Bay Area Teen USA 1999, Miss Bay Area USA 2002 and to advance as one of the few Texas double crown winners. Nicole is the former Miss Texas Teen USA® 2000 and Miss Texas USA® 2003 and was 1st Runner-up to Miss Teen USA® 2000 and 2nd Runner-up to Miss USA® 2003. Denise was thrilled when she had the opportunity in 2003 to become the Director of the Miss Bay Area USA and Miss Bay Area Teen USA Pageant and in the current structure of the MISS TEXAS USA organization is an OFFICIAL RECRUITER of MISS TEXAS USA and MISS TEXAS TEEN USA. Her goal has been to help young women transfer the dream of winning a crown into an action plan for personal development. She knows firsthand the positive impact of having a dream transformed into reality by dedicating one’s self to excellence. It is her desire to be a resource to all the contestants and for her winners to be community leaders with a crown!
Each delegate wears a gown she has chosen for herself. Attention is focused on each contestant's overall appearance, self-confidence, sense of style and the beauty she brings to the gown of her choice.
Denise and her husband Dan are most proud of their adult children Nicole and Daniel and their three grandchildren. A breast cancer survivor, Denise volunteers for breast cancer organizations including the Komen Houston Race for the Cure and was featured in 2004 in a calendar titled HOPE & INSPIRATION, SURVIVING Mothers of Breast Cancer, with proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation Houston Affiliate. Since 2002, Denise, Nicole and the reigning Miss Texas USA have organized an annual group of area titleholders, contestants and pageant supporters to participate in the Komen Houston Race for the Cure. It is with pride that she works with her titleholders and area contestants on various service projects in our Greater Bay Area Houston communities.
